Date selection: The recipient can choose any available train date within the validity period.
Includes: A 5-hour vintage train ride, wine tastings, local snacks, guided walks, and a winery visit (same program as our regular offer).
How it works:
– Purchase the gift voucher online.
You will receive a digital voucher by email (printable).
The recipient chooses a date and redeems the voucher using the code (subject to availability).
What’s included in the price?
– The price includes:
• 5-hour guided ride on a vintage Slovenian train
• Local winemaker onboard (tasting of five local wines)
• Homemade snacks on the train
• Guided walk through Ajdovščina
• Visit to a local estate in Dornberk with regional wine and dishes (baked prosciutto in dough, jota with sausage)
• A Vipava Valley wine glass
What is the timetable and itinerary?
13:20 – Arrival and check-in (Nova Gorica Train Station)
13:50 – Boarding the train
14:05 – Train departure
15:00 – Stop in Ajdovščina (guided walk)
16:35 – Stop in Dornberk (estate visit)
19:05 – End of the journey at the starting station
How long is the guided walk in Ajdovščina?
– The walk is about 1.2 km and lasts around 30 minutes.
If anyone needs assistance or transport, please let us know in advance.
Can children join, and what are the prices?
– Of course! Families are very welcome.
Children’s prices:
0–3 years: free
4–7 years: €25
8–11 years: €35
12+ years: €72
Can we bring a dog?
– Yes, but only small dogs are allowed.
Are there any discounts?
– The standard price is €79 per person.
For groups of more than 15 people, the reduced price is €72 per person.
What if the weather is bad?
– The Wine Train runs in all weather conditions.
All main parts of the program take place under a roof (on the train and in wineries), so rain doesn’t affect the experience.
In case of extreme weather, you’ll be informed of any changes in time.
In which language is the experience conducted?
– The experience is available in Slovenian and English.
German or Italian guidance is possible upon prior arrangement (mainly for groups).
What if I have dietary restrictions?
– If you’re vegetarian, vegan, or have allergies or food restrictions, please inform us when booking.
We’ll do our best to provide suitable snacks and dishes.
Where can I park?
– Guests are advised to use the free parking area at the Nova Gorica Train Station, where the Wine Train starts and ends.
Can I buy the wines we taste?
– Yes, most of the wines you taste are available for purchase directly from the participating winemakers, either on the train or at the winery.
When should I arrive at the meeting point?
– Please arrive at 13:20 to check in on time and receive your Vipava Valley wine glass.
